The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) of Vietnam plans to deploy by next year six additional procedures to the National Single Window (NSW).

According to the MOIT, the new procedures to be added in 2018 are those for the following: granting of import/export license for industrial explosive pre-substances; granting of import/export license for industrial pre-substances; chemical import declaration; non-commercial tobacco importation;  requesting to join the pilot project for self-certification in ASEAN; and informing about the criteria for tobacco material and rolling paper importation.

Moreover, from this year until next, the MOIT aims to expand the implementation of five procedures already deployed in the single window system.

These are the granting of import license for ozone-layer depleting substances; granting of automatic import license for powerful motorcycles; granting of preferential certificate of origin; granting of import/export license for industrial explosive materials; and granting of certificate of Kimberly process.

The single window system is an online facility that allows parties involved in trade and transport to lodge standardized information and documents with a single entry point to fulfill all import, export, and transit-related regulatory requirements.

At present, 11 ministries and sectors in Vietnam are connected through the NSW, and 38 administrative procedures on the platform have been updated, according to the latest information provided by the General Department of Customs-Standing Agency of National Steering Committee on NSW and ASEAN Single Window.

In addition, 358,000 sets of documents have been handled and about 11,400 enterprises have joined the NSW, the committee reported.
