  • CCS-UK has migrated to His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs’ new platform, the Customs Declaration Service
  • This enables the CCS-UK community to submit CDS Customs Declarations for all air imports and exports
  • Initially, CDS handled import declarations, and CCS-UK pioneered as a community system provider
  • After an extensive development program, CCS-UK has completed testing and received approval for both exports and imports

CCS-UK has migrated to His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs’ (HMRC) new platform, the Customs Declaration Service (CDS).

Initially, CDS handled import declarations, and CCS-UK pioneered as a community system provider, facilitating the transition on January 1, 2021.

Following an extensive development program, CCS-UK completed thorough testing and received approval for both exports and imports. Users can gradually migrate their export declarations to CDS within the HMRC window.

Guy Thompson, CCS-UK user group program director, emphasized the significance of this achievement and acknowledged the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders involved, including BT and its delivery partners, the CCS-UK User Group, users, freight software providers, trade associations, and HMRC.

“(The) CCS-UK User Group has made the transition much smoother by initiating and supervising business-focused testing by key CCS-UK users and their software providers,” said Thompson.

The proactive approach aims to prevent any adverse impact on the crucial flow of goods to and from the United Kingdom during the full migration to CDS, he said.
